I’ve talked about there being no such thing as a ‘coincidence’, but that’s it’s a GOD-incident instead. And once again, I’ve come face to face
with my own theory. When you least expect it, and when you need it the most, God sends you your very own pep talk --if only you’ll stop and
listen!! continued

Last night,at our Bible Study, our discussion was Manna from Heaven. Jesus is the true food, provided by God, to provide our every
need. As we went around the room, each person shared a time or place in their lives where they received Manna, where God provided
for them in profound ways. We heard about kids, jobs, divorces, money strains, relationships, deaths, survival, strangers, friends,
kind words. Over 24 individual stories, some similar, all powerful, remembering a time where they felt the hand of God upon them,
providing for them, blessing them. click here to read more

The other evening, several of us were together, talking, and someone started listing all the ‘couples’ that have come together the last few
years. These were people that met in home teams, or Bible Studies, or on cruises, or weekend retreats. We’ve had lots of marriages
and engagements, more the last few years than ever. It’s a wonderful thing to see two people that you’ve seen ‘connect’ and grow and
become friends, and eventually, get married.
Then, someone started apologizing for the emphasis on the ‘couples’, because they didn’t want those singles present to think that all we
were about was getting engaged and married, or to place our emphasis on ‘not’ being single, by emphasizing marriages.
It’s a fine line to toe, in a social group with lots of singles. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE

June 15, 2007 PartyFishers of the Month!
Well, no, we don’t really have an award for this, but maybe we should! I think we should all be inspired by the efforts of others….we’ve been
there, or we are there…or we will be there.! And we can all learn from each other!
I first ‘met’ Kathy G online in the DFW Christian Singles Yahoo network. I drop in occasionally, share PartyFish info, and often get news
about other events going on in the area. Kathy and her friend Debbie decided to come to Joe’s Crab Shack, in Grapevine, for the Monthly
Dinner Out. Kathy lives in Carrollton, -- and, as she’s quick to point out, she tends to get lost when she goes to Grapevine!

The past couple of weeks, I’ve been blessed to witness and celebrate some exciting events. From weddings to milestone
birthdays (you know, those ones with the ZERO in them!), I’ve been able to laugh and celebrate and reflect on some
happy, happy memories with some very dear people.
Last night, for instance, we were toasting (with mango tea!) the birthday girl with special, personal memories. It was such
fun to realize that so many there shared EACH of the 15-20 memories recounted. We were able to laugh again, and laugh
anew, as more ‘details’ were added to each memory. I felt so very blessed to have these people in my life… they have
enriched and enhanced my life with their support and love, and of course, LAUGHTER! To read more, click here!

The last week of October… the first week of really cool weather…. And we’re about to
FALL BACK and watch the nights get darker earlier!
Perfect time to try something new, meet some new friends and get outta that rut you’ve
been in!!!
But nobody says it’s going to be easy. You still have to make an effort. Just because you
show up at something doesn’t mean you can just sit back and wait for the ‘new friends’ to
gather round. Someone once said, “Prince Charming isn’t out there knocking on doors….
He’s out there chasing dragons.”
So, you’ve got to go where the dragons are…….. learning a new dance step, taking a
road trip with new faces, show up for dinner or lunch. Embrace life, and you’ll be
surprised at the excitement that awaits.
Cindy contacted PF several months ago, looking to start a ‘new life’…. She was
undergoing a traumatic divorce (aren’t they all!!) and found herself on the short side of
family and friends. To finish reading Cindy’s story, go to She found PF through a friend,
and decided to get ‘her feet wet’ at one of the Bible Studies listed on the site. That week
after attending, the Bible Study organized a ‘chick flick’ night, and Cindy decided to go.
She had only been once, and didn’t really know any of the gals, but she wanted to see the
movie, and she wanted to get out of the house!
Well, AS LUCK WOULD HAVE IT, the movie was a sell-out, and Cindy didn’t get a ticket,
along with about 5 other ladies. Now, how many of you would have just said,’ tough luck’,
and gone home and wallowed in self pity? Cindy, however, realized that there were other
gals in the same boat, and when she confirmed they were with the same group, they all
decided to head to another theater and catch the same movie there! They carpooled up,
headed to Grapevine, only to find out that they had missed THAT showing. By this time,
they shared a common mission, TO SEE THIS MOVIE!!..., and made plans to go the
following Friday night….but not before heading to a nearby ice cream shop and laughing
and talking and getting to know each other! It was a fine evening indeed, and AS LUCK
WOULD HAVE IT, Cindy started close friendships with each of the gals, who made sure to
include her in other activities. Sometimes our plans are not as WE planned them…. We
have to remember that a Higher Power is involved, and that many doors are waiting for
you to enter, to become the person you were meant to be. But it’s not easy, and it’s
certainly not passive…. You have to take action, and get out there, and just do it!
Be like Cindy, and let’s see what kind of lemonade YOU can make!!!
